I woke up extra early today to join friends and watch the shuttle re-entry, which was supposed to be visible here in the SF Bay Area. 5:52 came and went, without any sound or glow coming through the overcast sky. Figuring it was delayed to the next orbit, I took off in my T-Bird for some breakfast at MCDonald’s. Needless to say, I was shocked at what I found on the TV when I returned home.
